Question to all youngsters what is garba??

Hello everyone :-)


I am neither a poet nor a writer but i just want to share my views regarding our cultural dance. I know for most of us when we hear word dance we view picture of a disco and think of salsa or ball dance. This reflects that our mentality has changed.


Forget about classical dance but we don't respect our folk dances too........


Let me give you an example of navratri that takes place at baroda. Everybody becomes mad to go at UW. This is goooooooooood that atleast we like to play garba. But we never do so. I see most of them doing steps and not even a single clap. Garba is all about clapping in tal but no claps, grace,etc are seen nowadays........ In baroda we don't find dandia even. That's surprising atleast we can play dandia!!!


Folks let us not destroy our heritage. Let us make others follow our culture rather than we following theirs and everybody knows that foreigners enjoy playing garba or dandia in our traditional style then why can't we.
